It is decided to sell Joseph's Cadet kart as it's collecting dust after only being used for less than an hour. Joseph is sad to see it go as it has his Schumacher stickers on but, he understands he not big enough or strong enough to drive it yet.
October 2011 - Rowrah - win in the wet!
A soggy day in Rowrah made for very slippery conditions, but this just enabled Joseph to do what he loves...drive in the wet! He lead the sessions throughout the day and took first place in the time trial...well done!
September 2011 - Fulbeck
A mixture of conditions made it a more challenging day for driver and mechanic but Joseph managed to stay the fastest in the wet conditions with some very good wet lap times...no wonder he loves the rain!
September 2011 - Fulbeck Bambino Day - Joseph does the treble!
In the second of the dedicated Bambino Days at Fulbeck Joseph was again in fine form. He took first place in the time trails and went on to win his heats, securing Pole position for the final race. There was a rolling start to the race, the first time Joseph had ever experienced this and he took it in his stride and was raring to go as he approached the flag to start, a fantastic race to watch and he finished with a clear win!
As well as winning 1st in the time trial and the race Joseph managed to put an even faster lap in during the race which got him a a third trophy for the "overall fastest lap of the day"...well, well, well done Joseph!
August 2011 - Rowrah (bank hol) - win & new personal best!
Another bright, sunny day at Rowrah and Joseph was on form again, leading the sessions throughout the day and finishing the time trial with first place and a personal best lap time of 36.05 seconds...well done again!
August 2011 - Fulbeck - win & new personal best!
A warm sunny day gave Joseph the opportunity to put his best ever lap time in today at Fulbeck. A first place in the time trials and a personal best...you can't ask for much more! Super driving Joseph!
August 2011 - Rowrah
Joseph had a faultless drive at Rowrah today, good conditions and great driving, he got 2nd place in the time trials, beaten by only a tenth of a second. Another good result.
August 2011 - Fulbeck Bambino Day - Joseph does the double!
A dedicated Bambino was organised at Fulbeck to give the Bambino Club drivers a chance to get some good "time in the seat".
Joseph was as consistent as ever and secured 1st place in the morning/early afternoon time trials and then went on to win his heats, securing Pole position for the standing start final race in the afternoon. He had a clear win in the final which finished his day off nicely!
Fantastic driving...well done Joseph!
July 2011 - Three Sisters, Wigan
Joseph's first trip to Three Sisters was a great experience for him, a new very fast track for him to learn. He went straight out without hesitation, almost like he'd been there before, and pushed hard all day, another enjoyable day out for Joseph.
July 2011 - Fulbeck
A very wet day at Fulbeck, just what Joseph ordered!, he had a great time practising in the wet, his favourite conditions. Some great driving but a couple of engine troubles along the way...that's karting though and Joseph took it all in his stride!
July 2011 - Rowrah
Another time trail event at Rowrah and again Joseph worked hard all day starting the day with very fast lap times and maintaining them throughout the day...consistent, smooth driving!
June 2011 - Fulbeck Win
On the way to Fulbeck Joseph made 2 wishes, one for rain and one for another win. He got them both, although not as much rain as he'd like!
He started the day with the fastest lap time and remained the fastest in each session. The sessions got faster throughout the day for all drivers but Joseph worked as hard as he could in each session to make sure he stayed in 1st place...fantastic!
June 2011 - Rowrah
After a few months away Joseph was back at Rowrah to take part in the Bambino time trials. He was having a great day and his times progressed throughout the day with his fastest ever lap being recorded in the second last session...Well done Joseph!
Another shelf for the ever accumulating trophies required too!
June 2011 - Hooton Park Race - win!
Joseph loved the racing format so much he jumped at the chance to have another go. A strange day for the weather having to jump between slicks and wets a few times and one of the heats being postponed because of the rain.
He won the first 2 heats starting from 4th and 12th position which got him pole position for the final. He drove very well and again accomplished a clear win in the final, smashing the lap record (that he set the month before) with a fastest lap of 50.48!
May 2011 - Hooton Park Time Trials - 1st place
Joseph again wanted to do the long drive to Hooton Park, this time to take part in the time trails arranged there.
A great days driving with lots of track time, resulting in Joseph setting a new Bambino lap record of 51.07 seconds (another 1st place trophy for the collection!)
May 2011 - Hooton Park Race - Win
Joseph took part in his first ever race at Hooton Park circuit on Sunday 15 May. He paid very close attention at the drivers briefing having never raced before, he had new flags, grid positions and lights to take note of as well as an unfamiliar track.
After winning the 2 heats he was on pole position for the final. He won the race and was a clear 30 seconds in front...Fantastic driving Joseph!
May 2011 - Wombwell
The Bambino class was welcomed at SYKC for the third month. Joseph had had a great days driving and with a fastest lap time of 46.00 seconds he was running 1st, with only 1 session left to maintain his lead.
He was focused and ready to give it his all for the last session but, unfortunately as he cleared the kart he'd overtaken on the straight he was hit from behind and sent spiralling into the wall which threw him out of the kart. Very frightening for a child (and parents) of 6 but, very lucky also. Joseph was very brave and was able to tell the Marshal's exactly what had happened.
He remained unbeaten and collected his 1st place trophy, upset only because he "shouldn't have been knocked off and missed the last session".
Racing for Buttons at PFI - April 2011
Joseph took part in the evening session "Racing for Buttons" at PFi for the first time. PFi was the first "big" track where he saw Cadets racing and he has long wanted to have a go at the track but the distance (a three hour drive there and back) had been too far for an evening session. We took the opportunity to go in the Easter holidays and was very excited. He found his way in the first lap and was speeding round the track like he was a regular within no time, great to watch and great fun for him too!
April 2011 - Fulbeck
The regular practice day at Fulbeck was at a very fast pace again today. Joseph maintained his lap consistency with a best lap on the day of 1.02.42.
April 2011 - Wombwell win
Having smashed his previous winning lap record of 47.04 in the 1st session, Joseph struggled with engine problems for the mid sessions of the day but, with a lot of hard work he was back "on track" for the last three sessions of the day and put some fantastic times in.
He took 1st place with a new track record of 45.43 seconds...he couldn't have worked any harder!
March 2011 - Another 1st at Fulbeck
A great days driving results in another 1st place with a fastest lap of 1.02.38 for Joseph!
This is his third consecutive win having come 1st at Fulbeck in February and Wombwell in March...well done again Joseph!
March 2011 - Wombwell win!
Another triumph for Joseph...Wombwell welcomed Bambino drivers to the track for the first time today. Joseph worked hard all day and it paid off with a first place podium position (for the fastest lap of the day at 47.04 seconds) and a shiny new trophy...well done Joseph!
February 2011 - Happy Birthday!
Happy 6th Birthday! Joseph turns 6 and looks forward to another year in Bambino karting!
Feb 2011 - Joseph Takes 1st at Fulbeck
We travelled through snow to get there and the rain lasted all day. Everyone was wet through, most had just gone home, with only the bambinos staying until the end of the day.
Well worth the effort for a 1st place position…well done Joseph, your first win at Fulbeck!
Feb 2011 - Rowrah Practice Day
Some of the worst weather (high winds and torrential rain) we've ever seen and Joseph's in his element- he loves driving in the wet.
